Cavern Diver Course
Training for cavern and siphon diving, always within natural light.
The promontory hides siphons, caverns and passages that demand specific skills: light management, buoyancy control in confined spaces, navigation without external visual references, and emergency procedures in an overhead environment.
The Cavern Diver course prepares you for all of this. You learn to enter overhead environments — always within natural light — with the confidence that comes from technique and preparation.
What you learn
Light management (primary and backup). Propulsion techniques in confined spaces. Communication in spaces where signals must be clear and immediate. Dive planning with the rule of thirds for gas management. Emergency procedures specific to overhead environments.
The Portofino sites
The marine reserve offers real, varied overhead environments: La Colombara with its two caverns and the red-coral siphon, Il Dragone with its vertical siphon dropping to -23 metres, the Grotta dell’Eremita. Each site has its own character and progressive difficulty levels, ideal for training.
